Hi, I'm Koko Brill
As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, I am dedicated to helping women escape the grasp of diet culture by providing guidance, support, and accountability as they adopt the principles of the Food Freedom Lifestyle.
With my extensive first-hand experience in overcoming diet culture (restriction, the binge cycle, overexercising, emotional eating, poor body image and more) I am equipped to help my clients overcome the challenges they are facing in their lives regarding food and body image through intuitive eating. I am fully committed to providing the highest quality services to my clients.
My Success Story
At an early age, I became entrenched in diet culture. I worried about my weight constantly and began developing a negative body image at just 10 years old. As time went on, I became obsessed with “health”. Unfortunately, it lead me to being terribly unhealthy.
I restricted, I binged, I ate emotionally, I purged, I overexercised and I tried every diet out there. My body image and self-esteem were poor and I valued myself based on the number on the scale. My physical body and my spirit were disconnected.
Through intuitive eating, I was able to turn my life around and finally let go of diet culture. I began eating foods I had avoided for years. I stopped overexercising and found joy in simple movement again. I stopped obsessing over food and gained the capacity to focus on other (more important) things.
My personal history and the knowledge I have gained as a holistic nutritionist and Reiki master has lead me to develop the Food Freedom Lifestyle. It is through the principles of Food Freedom that I have been able to coach others to successfully embrace a life free from diet culture.
How I Work
My Teaching Process
1. Working Together
We work together one-on-one in a virtual setting. We dig deep and identify your core beliefs around food, weight and body image. We also identify emotional eating triggers and why you may think of certain foods as “good” or bad”.
2. Learning the Principles
We work through the principles of the Food Freedom Lifestyle each week, allowing you to incorporate them into your own life and reflecting on your experience in between sessions.
3. Progress, Not Perfection
We set goals and monitor your progress (without fear of failure!) as you move from diet culture to Food Freedom.
Whether its binge eating, restriction, health-obsession or endless yo-yo dieting, your body has an innate wisdom of what you truly need. Through the Food Freedom Lifestyle, you will be able to harness your inner knowing and free yourself of diet culture and obsession.
The Food Freedom Lifestyle is NOT a weight loss program.
It is also not for those in active eating disorders.
